Race Class Rules

Current class, body, tire, battery, weight, ride height, and electronics rules for racing at SWFLRC Raceway.

If any driver is found with something illegal, all previous runs will be disqualified and they will be scored last.

General Pan Car Rules

These rules apply across the pan car classes unless the individual class rules say otherwise.

Battery, Weight & Ride Height

  • 2-cell shorty packs, 5000mAh or below.
  • Battery MSRP must be $59.99 or below.
  • 1S maximum voltage: 4.22V. Must be drawn down to 4.20V if over at tech.
  • 2S maximum voltage: 8.44V. Must be drawn down to 8.40V if over at tech.
  • 1/10 pan car minimum weight: 36 oz race ready.
  • 1/10 pan car minimum ride height: 4mm on black carpet.
  • 1/12 scale minimum weight: 30 oz race ready.
  • 1/12 scale minimum ride height: 3mm.

Body Rules

For approved Gen 3 bodies, a spoiler with a maximum height of 1.5 inches from the deck lid may be used. Spoilers are optional. Rear of body must be left in. Roof height is 4 1/4 inches. Center of front hood height is 2 1/2 inches.

Bodies should resemble NASCAR-style paint schemes with door and roof numbers, grille, and headlights. These may be stickers or painted.

Body scraping, shaving, or any other method intended to lighten the body is not allowed.

Open Body Classes: 13.5 Super Stock, Busch, and Pro Stock 35T may use open NASCAR-style bodies and the back may be cut out. Wings are permitted.

Busch

Any rear wheel drive pan car chassis. Must run ball diff style. No gear diff. No spool axles. Spur gear must be on right side. Motors must be mounted to run in counter-clockwise rotation.

Tire restriction: Racers may use any foam tires intended for 1/10 scale pan cars, except for the pearl, white, gray, black, and silver families, including BSR yellow ring tires, or equivalent compound/family from any manufacturer. Intent: preserve the integrity of the racing surface.

LOSI NASCAR

This is intended to be a box-stock class with minimum changes made to the car. If the rules do not explicitly say that you can do something, it is not legal. Applies to 1/12 Losi NASCAR AWD Brushed RTR #LOS11224**.

Chassis & Body

  • All parts and components must be stock.
  • No Losi, Arrma, or aftermarket option parts unless specifically allowed.
  • Chassis and suspension must remain unmodified.
  • No removing parts. No heating or bending parts.
  • No adding weight to the vehicle body.
  • All cars must have numbers on the roof and both doors.
  • Stock painted Losi bodies or replacements LOS-1918, LOS-1917, LOS-1938, and truck bodies are allowed.
  • Replacement bodies must be painted or wrapped. Custom paint or wraps are encouraged.
  • No body scraping or shaving to lighten the body. No clear bodies.
  • Bodies must be mounted at stock height.
  • Washers may be added to bumper so splitter does not pull away after a crash.
  • No trimming of body or removal of material.

Electronics

  • ESC: SPMXSE3125RX RTR / SLT RX / 25A brushed ESC.
  • Any charger may be used and battery connections may be changed, but bullet-style connectors or direct soldering are not allowed. Must use Deans-type connector.
  • Battery: SPMX142S30H2 Spektrum 1400 2S 7.4V Smart G2 30C LiPo.
  • Battery maximum voltage: 8.44V. Maximum temperature: +10 degrees over ambient at tech table.
  • Battery must be mounted in stock location only.
  • Motor: LOS-1907 28-turn 380 RTR brushed motor. Must remain unmodified.
  • All stock electronics must be used, including ESC, servo, radio, motor, and battery.
  • Electronics cannot be modified in any way, including shortening wires or direct soldering.
  • Electronics must be mounted in stock positions.
  • Due to Losi servo backorder, LOS-1910 or another aftermarket style servo horn may be used if the servo horn can be changed to Losi aluminum servo horn.

Tires, Shocks, Differentials & Gearing

  • Stock tires, soft or medium.
  • CA glue or electrical tape may be applied to front tire sidewalls to prevent traction rolling.
  • Stock shocks only, LOS-1936.
  • Stock springs only.
  • Shock oil may be changed.
  • Shocks must be mounted in stock positions.
  • Must use stock diff, ARA311177V2.
  • Diff grease may be changed for other greases.
  • No spools or thick grease to make the diff work like a spool.
  • Differentials cannot be locked.
  • Stock gearing: 59/19. No aftermarket gears.
  • No Losi option parts allowed. Bearings may be replaced.
  • Y-harness splitter required for servo/transponder.

Losi 22S Sprint

This class is intended to be box stock, with only the explicitly approved exceptions listed below to allow competitive racing at SWFLRC while keeping the class cost effective. No wings on carpet.

Any deviation from the explicitly listed exceptions — including modification or removal of stock components, or additions to box-stock components — is illegal.

Approved Configuration

  • CarLosi 22S Sprint Car. Original kit parts only unless otherwise noted. Unmodified driver must remain in car.
  • MotorFirma 3300KV, SPMXSM4800.
  • Speed ControlFirma 45 Lite, SPMX1106, installed in standard location with original connectors.
  • TiresJConcepts Smoothies, all compounds. Silver is preferred for this track. Stock OEM tires allowed.
  • RadioRadio and receiver of choice may be used.
  • BatteryUp to 5600 2S LiPo with or without external connector. Shorty batteries approved. Maximum voltage 8.4V. Connector adapters and connector changes allowed.
  • Battery MountingBattery must be mounted in standard area, but may be repositioned using the kit’s included battery stops.
  • WeightAdding weight is prohibited anywhere on the car.
  • WingsNo wings.

Body

  • Any color Losi 22S plastic cage, panels, wing sets, wheel covers, bumper/nerf bars, and header sets.
  • All body components must be used.
  • Lexan body components are not approved.
  • OEM parts may be recolored or wrapped to match your scheme. This is encouraged.

Approved Servos

  • Spektrum SPMS684, 0.14s, 7kg-cm / 97.2 oz-in.
  • Savox SC0254MG, 0.14s, 7.2kg-cm / 100 oz-in.
  • Savox SC0252MG/P, 0.19s, 10.5kg-cm / 145.8 oz-in.
  • Traxxas 2075 / X / R, 0.17s, 9kg-cm / 125 oz-in.

Servo Saver / Horn Options

May use Losi-included servo saver, stiff servo saver spring, or one-piece 25T servo horn. Servo saver may be pinned. One-piece 25T solid horn is allowed.

Drivetrain

  • Must use gear differential LOS232093.
  • Spur gear must be 84T, LOS232038 or TLR232012.
  • Pinion gear may be changed, 24T maximum.
  • Gear diff fluid/oil may be changed.
  • TLR slipper pads TLR332007 may be used.

Suspension & Cooling

  • Must use TLR shock pistons TLR233036, 1.6mm, and/or TLR233038, 1.7mm. Any combination is approved.
  • Internal shock limiters are allowed for ride height adjustment.
  • Shock oil may be changed.
  • TLR or Losi front spring sets LOS-2604, LOS-1885, or Losi 22 off-road springs may be used.
  • Factory ball cups may be replaced with joint of choice.
  • A 30mm fan may be used in the provided location.
